KC Streetcar is award winning

The running list of awards and accolades for the KC Streetcar project keeps growing with the addition of two more distinctions: the ACEC of Missouri Grand Conceptor Award and the 2017 Capstone Award. The total list so far includes:

Best Regional Project of the Year

 

The Kansas City Streetcar project is the proud recipient of the Best Regional Project in Transit by Engineering News-Record (ENR).  The award recipients will be honored at the ENR Midwest Best Projects event Nov. 30 in Chicago.  The award was submitted by HDR Engineering, Inc., who served as the project’s lead design firm. Stacy-Witbeck and Herzog Contractors, known as the KC Streetcar Constructors, was the joint venture responsible for building the infrastructure for the KC Streetcar.

 

Transportation Achievement Award

 

The Kansas City Streetcar project was also selected as the 2016 MOVITE Transportation Achievement Award Winner and will be honored at the annual meeting in October. MOVITE, or the Missouri Valley Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), is the international professional society for those engaged in the planning, design and operation of streets, highways and other transportation facilities.
