The KC Streetcar’s Main Street Extension Grand Opening was more than a celebration of transit progress — it was a celebration of Kansas City creativity, community, and collaboration. In a powerful moment of hometown pride, the KC Streetcar and Kansas City musician, artist, entrepreneur, and community activist Kemet Coleman unveiled the official KC Streetcar Anthem, “Stay In Your Lane,” during the Grand Opening Ceremony on October 24, 2025.
The debut marked the latest partnership between the KC Streetcar and Coleman, whose music has become intertwined with the story of modern transit in Kansas City. Nearly a decade after his hit “Get Out (The KC Streetcar Song)” launched alongside the original downtown route in 2016, Coleman returned with a new anthem to capture the movement, momentum, and energy of the expanded line to UMKC.
Later that evening, Brass & Boujee, along with Coleman, brought “Stay In Your Lane” to life on stage with a live performance near the UMKC Streetcar Stop during the community celebration — closing out a historic day that marked the 3.5-mile extension of the KC Streetcar system.

The collaboration brought together an all-star lineup of Kansas City talent, including Brass & Boujee (Marcus Lewis Big Band), Kadesh Flow (Ryan Davis), and Kimology (Kim Newsome), with Grammy-nominated musician and producer Dominique Sanders on bass and Robert Tribbett III on keys and organ. Coleman served as executive producer, while Kansas City filmmaker, Sensei Brands, captured the partnership on film, producing a music video that showcases Kansas City’s culture, landmarks, and community.
