KC Streetcar To Adjust Service Hours During City Street Resurfacing Work
The KC Streetcar will adjust operational hours during street resurfacing work.
Starting, September 11, 2022, the KC Streetcar will adjust hours of operation to support the City of Kansas City, Missouri’s street resurfacing project that will affect the KC Streetcar corridor including the City Market area and Main Street between 7th Street and Pershing Road. This includes the area around the City Market and will affect 3rd and 5th Streets, Grand Boulevard and Delaware Street.
During the City’s Street Resurfacing work, the KC Streetcar will operate with the following hours:
- Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (One-hour early termination)
- Monday – Wednesday: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (One-hour delay start and one-hour early termination)
- Thursday: 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. (One-hour delay start)
- Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. (Regular service)
- Saturday: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. (Regular service)
Work is anticipated to start September 11 and last approximately five weeks, weather depending. Most of the work will take place Sunday through Thursday and during the overnight hours. Work is being performed during weekday overnight hours to limit the amount of disruption to streetcar operations and additional signage will posted at all streetcar stops to inform riders of this temporary schedule change. Throughout this duration, on-street parking on the streetcar route will be restricted.
Please note that the KC Streetcar will follow regular hours on September 13th and 25th due to downtown activities that may result in large crowds. On those dates, work will take place after regular service concludes.
