Sporting KC Streetcar

The KC Streetcar is ready to kick off the Sporting KC Season.

The KC Streetcar is dressed and ready to kick off the start of Major League Soccer (MLS) season.

On Friday, February 28, Sporting KC and the KC Streetcar will unveil a specially “wrapped” Sporting KC Streetcar. Starting at 11:00 a.m., Kansas City is invited to hop on board the Sporting KC Streetcar with Sporting KC’s mascot, Blue, and Sporting KC Brand Ambassadors to officially kick off the 2020 Sporting KC season.

Every passenger that rides the Sporting KC Streetcar on Friday between 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. can receive a special Sporting KC Streetcar Passport book full of specials at various locations along and near the KC Streetcar route. These Sporting KC specials are only valid between February 28 and March 8, 2020, and include the following establishments: The J. Rieger & Company Distillery in the East Bottoms, Bar K in Berkley Riverfront, BRGR and No Other Pub in the Power & Light District, and Parisi Coffee in Union Station.

In addition to the Sporting KC Streetcar, there will be a pop-up Sporting KC event at the Power & Light District streetcar stop at 14th & Main Street from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Stop by to take a selfie in The Photo Bus and grab some Sporting KC merchandise.

This marks the first time the KC Streetcar has partnered with Sporting KC to uniquely design and wrap a streetcar, but not the first time the streetcar has supported its hometown sport’s teams. In 2019, the KC Streetcar partnered with both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals in creating specialty designed streetcars.
