LIONS, TIGERS & STREETCARS? OH MY!

For the first time, the KC Streetcar and Kansas City Ballet have joined forces to bring a little magic to the tracks.

Inspired by a beloved story generations have grown up loving, the colorful new design is sure to turn heads and transport riders somewhere over the rainbow.

On August 19, 2026, the Oz Express Streetcar made its debut at the Riverfront Streetcar stop alongside costumed Kansas City Ballet dancers and Devon Carney, Artistic Director with Kansas City Ballet. Riders were able to meet the dancers, snap photos and experience a few surprises along the way. After some brief remarks, riders were invited to take the first-ever streetcar Ride to Oz.

The Oz Express will be cruising along the 6.5 mile streetcar route through October 31. Don’t wait for your chance to take this magical ride.
