Partners in Transit

KC Streetcar and EZ Pedicabs Team Up as “Partners in Transit”

The KC Streetcar and EZ Pedicabs are teaming up as “Partners in Transit,” launching a new collaboration that highlights how different modes of transportation can work together to connect people to more of Kansas City. The partnership is built around a simple idea: the journey doesn’t always end when you step off the streetcar.

The KC Streetcar’s 6.5-mile route connects riders from the Riverfront to UMKC. EZ Pedicabs helps extend that reach, traveling throughout the streetcar corridor as well as east, west and south of the main route, providing a convenient first-mile or last-mile connection.

“This partnership is a great opportunity to show what a connected transportation network can look like in Kansas City,” said Tom Gerend, Executive Director of the KC Streetcar Authority. “The KC Streetcar keeps people moving between the Riverfront and South Plaza, and EZ Pedicabs gives riders another way to make that final connection. We’re excited to partner with a Kansas City company that shares our commitment to making it easier — and more fun — to get around our city.”

My Other Ride is the KC Streetcar

The phrase puts the partnership front and center: the pedicab and streetcar aren’t competing rides — they’re connected rides. “Both the KC Streetcar and E-Z Pedicab offer unique ways for people to experience and explore Kansas City. Through this collaboration and design, we saw an opportunity to bring our two services together while celebrating the creativity, energy and people that make this city so special,” said Atticus Sloan, co-owner of EZ Pedicabs.

A True Kansas City Collaboration

Designed by Kansas City artist and musician FK Menace, the pedicab uses a bold combination of “streetcar colors” and incorporates stylized illustrations of the KC Streetcar moving along the 6.5-mile route. Kansas City-based LayRite Customs printed and installed the custom graphics, turning the artwork into a durable, weather-proof design built to travel throughout the city.

This vehicle also features one of EZ Pedicab’s signature handmade knitted awnings, created by local artist Emily Evans Sloan. The colorful knitted canopies are a recognizable feature of EZ Pedicabs, and this one has the specific KC Streetcar personality all over it.

Two Local Companies, One Connected City

Since launching, EZ Pedicabs has become a familiar sight at Kansas City events and destinations, and that wasn’t more evident than this summer during the FIFA World Cup.

The KC Streetcar and EZ Pedicabs both provide opportunities to connect people with local destinations while working with Kansas City businesses and creatives to bring ideas to life. This latest collaboration is an example of that shared philosophy — pairing two transportation options while involving Kansas City artists, businesses and makers along the journey.

The newly branded KC Streetcar Pedicab is on the move just in time for the 2026 Plaza Art Fair. Visit www.ezpedicabs.com for more information on how to catch a ride.
