Paving the Way

Ongoing progress at the Singleton Yard Facility.

On August 19, Tom Gerend, executive director of the KC Streetcar Authority (KCSA), provided a hard hat tour of the Singleton Yard Vehicle Maintenance Facility to members of the KCSA Board, KC Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) and City staff.  Visitors could see very visible progress both inside and outside of the facility.

Brick pavers are being installed in the front lot (pavers are already in at the non-revenue track behind the building), paint is going up on the inside walls, and the drop ceiling in being placed inside the administration and operations side of the building. On the “shop” side of the building, all bay doors are in and the 7.5 ton “Mega Crane” is in place. It’s estimated that construction of the Singleton Yard is eighty-five percent complete.
