We Move KC

KC Streetcar Welcomes 116,899 Passenger Trips in First 10 Days of opening the Main Street Extension

Kansas City is on the move — and the KC Streetcar is helping lead the way. Since opening the Main Street Extension on October 24, 2025, Kansas Citians and visitors alike have embraced this new chapter in our city’s transit story with enthusiasm, pride, and a whole lot of rides.

Between October 24 and November 2, the KC Streetcar logged an impressive 116,899 passenger trips across the full route from the River Market to UMKC. The single busiest day so far was Friday, November 1, when 16,816 trips were recorded.

From grand opening celebrations to weekend outings, campus commutes, and exploring midtown, the response has been overwhelming. Riders are experiencing how easy it is to connect to everything Kansas City has to offer — from arts and culture to dining, entertainment, neighborhoods, and completing daily travel from work to home, that make this city shine.

This milestone isn’t just about ridership numbers. It’s about movement — the kind that brings people together, drives progress, and builds momentum for the future of transit in Kansas City.

We are motion.
We are momentum.
We are progress.
We are connection.
We move, Kansas City.

Thank you for riding, the KC Streetcar.
