Recently, the KC Streetcar team took a little bit of Kansas City to the MPact Transit + Community Conference and debuted the “Welcome to Kansas City” video that definitely brought the energy. The MPact Transit + Community Conference will be held in Kansas City in October 2027.
The video tells a story about how transit in all its forms—walking, running, biking, streetcar, bus and pedicab—can connect a city when it’s planned strategically, thoughtfully and collaboratively, with the community at the center.
The journey begins at the re-energized Berkley Riverfront, where Kansas City’s story began centuries ago. From trails and green space to biking facilities, the KC Current’s CPKC Stadium, new development and a streetcar connection, the Riverfront offers a glimpse into where Kansas City is headed. From there, we follow a group of young Kansas Citians as they move south along the trails and tracks, connecting the Riverfront to downtown, midtown and the Plaza.
Along the way, the video showcases a little of what makes Kansas City unique—while leaving viewers with one important question: What else is there to discover?
The video was produced and directed by KC Streetcar Authority, David Henderson and Sam Sullivan, with original music by Kansas City musician Flare the Rebel.
We were proud to share our city with the MPact community—and we’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone to Kansas City for MPact 2027!
