KC Current Game Day Travel

For most KC Current home match days, the KC Streetcar will operate with boosted service for the majority of the day, with the potential of adding additional streetcars on the route two hours prior to march start and two hours post match.

For fans traveling to the match via the KC Streetcar, service is available from any streetcar stop along the route however riders are encouraged to board from stops outside of the City Market and River Market areas when possible as streetcars may be full by the time they arrive at those stops. When arriving at the Riverfront, riders should exit at the Riverfront stop using either the north or south side doors. From the stop, it is approximately a five-minute walk to CPKC stadium’s main gate entrance.

Approximately 30 minutes prior to the conclusion of the KC Current match, passengers boarding the streetcar from the Riverfront stop will queue and board from the north side only (river side). Three designated boarding lanes, identified with cones and tape, will be available for riders to choose from. A dedicated ADA boarding lane will be located south of the primary queuing lanes, where staff will assist riders boarding through the center doors of the streetcar.

Each departing streetcar from the Riverfront stop is expected to accommodate approximately 150 passengers while maintaining capacity for riders at other stops along the route. Representatives from both the KC Current and KC Streetcar teams will be onsite to assist riders and guests throughout the event. Passengers are reminded to allow riders to exit the streetcar before boarding.

Guests exiting the KC Current game by foot or bicycle using the new bicycle and pedestrian bridge will be directed to the south side of the streetcar platform to access the connecting sidewalk. Visitors may also utilize the riverfront trail system for a scenic route to and from the stadium.

For safety, pedestrians and cyclists should never cross directly in front of a streetcar or walk within the trackway. Pedestrians are encouraged to remain alert, use designated crosswalks, and watch carefully for moving streetcars.
