It’s Rail Time

Opening week of KC Streetcar service has been full of various weather patterns and temperatures, but none of that stopped Kansas City from riding the rails. During it’s first full week of operational service, the KC Streetcar made more than 57,000 trips.

First Week Ridership Numbers_Fri-Fri copyThe first day consisted of 12,230 rides celebrating opening day of the KC Streetcar. The demand continued into Saturday, with 14,648 rides completed.  The Kansas City Streetcar Authority deployed 4 streetcar vehicles for most of those two days in order to accommodate the demand for ridership while maintaining the 10-15 minute headways. Typical operations call for three streetcars running the route during service hours.
