All Aboard the KC Streetcar: Specials & Happenings Along the Route!

Get ready to celebrate the grand opening of the KC Streetcar Main Street Extension with a weekend full of local flavor, fun, and community spirit! Businesses along the new and existing route are rolling out special deals, live music, and unique experiences to welcome riders aboard.

 

 

Dining

 

Ragazza & Enzo – Ragazza and their sister restaurant Enzo are rolling out a full weekend of streetcar-themed celebrations to mark the KC Streetcar Main Street Extension grand opening. On Friday, October 24, enjoy a lively post-ceremony party at Ragazza from 11 AM–12:30 PM before hopping aboard the KC Streetcar with Dirty Dorothy & Friends for a festive ride to Enzo for lunch, featuring live music from SirQueen from 1–3 PM. The celebration continues on Sunday, October 26 with a delicious brunch at Ragazza from 11 AM–3 PM (reservations encouraged), followed by Daisy Buckët’s arrival at 2:30 PM and a ride to Enzo for an all-night happy hour and live performance from 5–8 PM. Each ticketed event includes one complimentary Ragazza cocktail and a commemorative mug — a perfect way to toast Kansas City’s newest connection!

 

Mildred’s – Celebrate the grand opening weekend with a coffee and your favorite breakfast or lunch at Mildred’s! Enjoy 15% off at any Mildred’s location — all just steps from the streetcar — when you use code STREETCAR at the register on October 24 and 25.

 

Russell Stover – Celebrate the sweet side of the KC Streetcar Grand Opening with Russell Stover, who will be handing out free chocolate treats at the UMKC stop following the press conference on Friday, October 24.

 

Café Corazón – Fuel your streetcar adventure with a stop at Café Corazón! Enjoy 10% off all coffees, agua frescas, and matchas from October 24 through November 24 at this colorful, Latin-inspired café.

 

Pizza 51 –  A perfect stop along the route for a quick and delicious bite during the grand opening weekend celebrations.

 

Uptown Lounge – Enjoy drink specials, live music from 5 PM to 1 AM, and exciting raffles—including a grand prize of a 3-hour rental in The Adagio Room event space. Plus, grab dinner from Urban Café, parked right outside on 34th Street from 5–9 PM.

 

Café Trio – Celebrate with a special 3-course dinner menu for $40 per person, available Friday and Saturday. Enjoy French Onion Soup, Coq au Vin Blanc, and finish with Crème Brûlée — a perfect way to savor the weekend in style.

 

Main Street Tavern – Stop by on opening day for complimentary coffee and donuts, plus enjoy special streetcar deals throughout the day.

 

Blanc Champagne BarRide the streetcar and hop off at the Westport stop to enjoy a sidewalk pop-up with free bubbly samples on Friday, October 24. Guests who show a streetcar selfie receive 15% off their bill. Then come back on Saturday, October 25 for Blanc’s 1st Birthday Celebration, featuring live music by Chloe Rose from 6–8 PM, automatic raffle entry for all guests, Dom Pérignon by the glass, and bottomless mimosas during brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

UMKC Streetcar Homecoming Celebration – Join the UMKC Community to welcome the Kansas City Streetcar extension to UMKC. The celebration includes high-energy performances from the Mob Band, Kansas City Roos Dance Team, treats, and commemorative giveaways. Be one of the first to see a special “big reveal” in person! 

 

Kansas City Repertory Theatre (KCRep) – Catch the Kansas City Repertory Theatre’s thrilling production of Dracula at Copaken Stage inside the H&R Block Building — one of two KCRep locations now along the KC Streetcar route. Performances run October 14 through November 2.

 

St. Paul’s Church – Explore the stunning historic sanctuary at St. Paul’s Church during their open house on Saturday, October 25, from 12 PM to 3 PM. Guests can enjoy a live rehearsal featuring pianist Kurt Knecht and the St. Petersburg Quartet performing Brahms.

 

The American Cancer Society – Join the American Cancer Society at Crown Center for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on Saturday, October 25. The event kicks off at 7:30 AM, with the walk beginning at 9 AM 

 

Fountain City Comedy Festival – Laugh your way through the weekend with the Fountain City Comedy Festival! Featuring more than 20 shows along the streetcar route and over 50 comedians from across the country, the festival runs October 22–25 and even includes special streetcar-inspired merch.

 

Seville Plaza Hotel (soon to be Spark by Hilton)
Celebrate the KC Streetcar Grand Opening with Seville Plaza Hotel on Friday, October 24, from 4–7 PM. Enjoy live music, food, beverages, local vendors, and more as this iconic Plaza property joins the festivities.

 

KC Streetcar Exhibit at Miller Nichols Library (UMKC)
Before or after your ride, stop by the Miller Nichols Library at UMKC to visit the KC Streetcar Exhibit. Learn more about the history and impact of the streetcar system through this engaging and educational display, open throughout the grand opening weekend.

 

Attractions

 

The Money Museum at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City – On Friday, October 24, enjoy free guided tours at 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, and 1 PM to see how millions of dollars are processed daily, lift a real gold bar, and explore rare coins from the Truman collection.

 

Kansas City Young Audiences (KCYA) – Bring ALL the kids, to ALL the arts classes they want to try, ALL for FREE!  No registration, No enrollment, just show up and get your art on! Kansas City Young Audiences (KCYA) will be offering a FREE Try-It Week from Monday, October 27-Saturday, November 1! Try-It Week includes classes in Art, Music, Theatre, and Dance for ages 3-17. QuikTrip – Stop by QuikTrip on Main Street for a fun photo op with “Van,” the ice cream cone mascot! Celebrate with sweet smiles on Friday, October 24 during the KC Streetcar grand opening festivities.

 

Swanky – Celebrate local creativity at Swanky’s Local Artists Open House, featuring 12 Kansas City artists. Meet the makers, browse their work, and enjoy the vibrant Main Street art scene on Friday and Saturday, October 24–25, from 11 AM to 4 PM.

 

Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas – Goodwill’s Midtown store is joining the celebration with 25% off storewide and fun family-friendly activities including a costume DIY station and face painting. Stop by Friday or Saturday, October 24–25, between 10 AM and 2 PM to enjoy the festivities and learn about Goodwill’s free training and education programs.

 

National WWI Museum and Memorial – The National WWI Museum and Memorial is celebrating the grand opening of the KC Streetcar Main Street Extension—and the debut of its very own “WWI Museum & Memorial” stop—with a special buy one, get one free General Admission offer.
