The KC Streetcar, in partnership with the Art in the Loop Foundation, is proud to announce the 2026 Art in the Loop artist lineup, bringing a curated outdoor art gallery and performance series directly to the streetcar route and throughout downtown Kansas City.
This marks the 11th season KC Streetcar has collaborated with Art in the Loop to bring art into public spaces, transforming streetcar stops, a streetcar vehicle, and key downtown destinations into a dynamic, accessible arts experience. This year’s theme, Home, explores the people, places, and experiences that shape a sense of belonging.
From late May through November, selected visual artworks will be featured at KC Streetcar shelters, onboard a streetcar, and in Oppenstein Brothers Memorial Park at 12th & Walnut—connecting riders and visitors to local creativity throughout the route. In addition, a series of free performances, including music, dance, and spoken word, will take place at streetcar-accessible locations all summer long.
More than 135 local artists applied for the 2026 program, with 26 selected to participate. Visual artworks are scheduled to be installed in late May with performances starting in June. All art and performances are free and open to the public. To RSVP to events, visit http://www.artintheloop.com.
