Since 2018, the downtown community has been celebrating all things 816! As always, we are partnering with Art in the Loop, the Downtown Council, Downtown Neighborhood Association, the River Market Community Association, and the Power & Light District to bring a celebration worthy of our area code to the Historic City Market. Between 5:30 – 8:00 p.m., on Friday, August 16, the downtown fun will be at City Market with three Art in the Loop performances featuring:
Danielle Ate The Sandwich: A delightful performance of original folk songs performed on ukulele and guitar. The performance will explore Convivencia through the conflict and harmony of how we live through the human experience.
45 Grados Flamenco featuring José Faus: Music, Poetry, and Dance come together in this bi-lingual performance that explores different cultures that co-exist in music, rhythm, songs, and spoken word.
Kadesh Flow: Kadesh Flow’s wide reaching content hops from socioeconomic musings to life bars that are laced with anime and video game references. His performance will be alongside his “Deshtet”, exploring differing ideas, blending them, generating conflict, and resolving tension.
The 816 Day fun can be found all around downtown, from 10am – 9pm.
“All The Way Live” at the Power & Light District is hosted by KC Where You At and features Art Garden KC all day long! DJs will be spinning tunes from morning to night alongside activities like:
